How Do I Change From Light To Dark Mode?

Literotica allows readers to customize their reading experience by changing the color of the site background and text from light mode to dark mode, and even a grey mode. Registered members can save their preferences so that all stories they read while logged in use the same color theme.

Light mode and dark mode are selectable in the Story Info Box at the top of every Story Page (on desktop browsers, the Story Info Box is at the top right).

Theme Colors In The Story Info Box

When the Story Page first loads, the “Info” tab of the Story Info Box is automatically selected. To customize the story page color, please click or touch the large “A” Font Customization icon.

The following Reading Theme color options are available on the Font Customization tab (below the Font Customization options):

  • Default (White) Mode - the default light color mode for viewing Literotica.
  • Dark Mode - light text on a dark background (sometimes called Night Mode).
  • Grey Mode - a dark mode that isn’t as dark as dark mode.

We also offer an option called “Detect Automatically”. If this option is selected, the site will attempt to automatically show light or dark mode based on your computer or browser settings. If automatic mode doesn’t work for you, please contact us and let us know your browser and operating system so that we can improve the feature.

Changing the theme color will change all pages on the site that use the new Literotica interface. In the future, the theme color will apply to all pages on the site (once the entire site is converted to the new interface).
