The next morning when we all boarded the bus to go on the road, I noticed something different about Kerrie that day. Not only was she a little withdrawn in the way she acted, but she seemed a lot more quieter that she once as.
"Are you okay, baby girl?" I softly asked her, placing my arm around her as I took a seat next to her, "You're awfully quiet today."
"I'm alright really I am," she sweetly smiled, leaning bup and kissing my cheek.
"Okay, then," I smiled, "I just wanted to make sure that you were still the same Kerrie that I love so much."
"Oh, I am, Daddy," she confidently smiled, "But I'm not who I used to be..."
THE END
~~~~~~
This is going to be the last thing that I'll write for quite a while. I hope you all enjoyed it, but for those who I didn't, oh well, such is life...
Love the story but sorry to see it end, I think there's a lot more to the tale!!!
Lurkingabout's comment: I'm not anti catholic but what they do represent is they're about the almighty religion. They believe there's the only religion and is why for so long were able to achieve the atrocities that occurred for such a long time of sexual abuse within the church.
I haven't yet look to see if maybe Kerrie has a follow up story to tell us of the woman she and her sister grow up to be
I've enjoyed many of your stories, including this one, but I do have to say that there is an offensively anti-Catholic theme in what is otherwise such a Christian story
It's refreshing to see a positive representation of Christianity on these pages yet whenever Catholics are mentioned they are the worst stereotypes imaginable. A very large disappointment.
