What do the colored icons on story listings mean?

Literotica uses Story Cards to list stories on various pages around the site. A Story Card shows the Story Title, Story Description, Story Author, Story Category, Publication Date, any Special Status, and Story Statistics.

The Story Statistics are represented by the small gray icons (with numbers beside them) at the bottom of the Story Card. You can find out more information about stats icons by visiting the Story Statistics Icons FAQ.

Story Card Status Icons
In addition to statistics, a Story Card might include one or more colored status icons to help you quickly understand something special about the story. The colored status icons appear on the bottom of the Story Card, to the left of the Story Statistics.

Colored Story Status icons include:

New Icon NEW (Orange/Yellow) - denotes New stories which have been published on Literotica within the last few days.

Hot Icon H (Red) - denotes Hot stories which are highly rated by the community, having an average vote score of at least 4.5 after receiving a minimum of 10 votes from readers.

Editors Choice Icon E (Green) - denotes Editor’s Choice stories. These are works we believe are exceptional - the personal opinion of a story moderator, based on their review of tens of thousands of Lit stories over many years.

Contest Winner Icon W (Blue) - denotes stories chosen by readers as Winners in our Monthly, Yearly, or Special contests.

In the future, we may add other icons and add them to the FAQ. If you see an icon on a story listing that isn’t shown here or on the Stats Icons page, please Contact Us and let us know.
